Katrina Lawrence is a lover of words, history and Paris – a city she has visited countless times. (Literally: she has lost count.)

After twenty years of working in women's magazines, Katrina took time out to write a book about her happy place: Paris Dreaming: What the City of Light Taught Me About Life, Love & Lipstick.

To share her passion for the city further, she launched a niche travel consultancy, Paris for Dreamers, along with an e-guide, Paris for Dreamers: Whimsical Walks Through the City of Light's Delights.

A lifelong reader of historical fiction, Katrina's debut novel is The Parisian Corset — a tale of couture and courage during occupied Paris, inspired by the wartime story of French Vogue and the mystery of an iconic fashion photograph.

Katrina lives in Sydney, on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.

A collage of photographs, including a woman sitting on a couch with a bookshelf behind her, a black and white photo of a girl looking at a river, a picture of various decorative objects and cosmetics, and two images of iconic Paris landmarks, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

From the Journal

“We write to heighten our own awareness of life. We write to lure and enchant and console others. We write to serenade our lovers. We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection”
